WestconGroup customers in SA can now take advantage of expanded breach prevention capabilities from Palo Alto Networks

Johannesburg, 16 Sep 2015

Customers of WestconGroup, value-added distributor of category-leading unified communications, network infrastructure, data centre, and security solutions, can now take advantage of new advancements to the Palo Alto Networks next-generation security platform.

The advancements, made available in the latest release of the Palo Alto Networks operating system, PAN-OS version 7.0, include expanded threat prevention capabilities through enhanced analysis, automation and operational efficiencies. These features have been designed specifically to help customers block threats from compromising their networks, endpoints and cloud-enabled data centres.

"With new technologies, plus the incorporation of cloud services to enterprise networks, combined with an increasingly challenging cyber security landscape, businesses are now more under threat than ever before. The increasing complexity makes it exceptionally difficult for IT teams to manage and protect their networks," states Denan Erasmus, Palo Alto Networks channel manager at WestconGroup Southern Africa.

"Addressing the volume of alerts, inefficiencies and manual processes associated with operating many siloed and legacy security products, the Palo Alto Networks security platform enables organisations to expand their breach prevention capabilities and boost operational efficiency.

"In today's threat environment, it is critical to be able to quickly identify and take preventative action against threats of all kinds, in various stages of the attack life cycle and across any network segment; the enhanced features in PAN-OS 7.0 allow them to do exactly that," ends Erasmus.

As a globally certified distributor for Palo Alto Networks, resellers and customers can take advantage of the value-added services that WestconGroup offers locally to support deployments of the Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Security Platform. WestconGroup's Authorised Training Centre for Palo Alto Networks provides partners with the complete set of certification courses, designed for both resellers and end-users.

WestconGroup's global services and support offerings support multi-geographical and brand deployments, as well as Palo Alto Networks events, to help drive lead generation and product knowledge. This, coupled with continual training of internal staff, constitute Westcon's value-added distribution promise.
