WestconGroup Southern Africa honoured as top hosting Microsoft SPLA distributor

For a second consecutive year, leading value-added distributor recognised for highest growth in Microsoft Services Provider Licensing Agreements in the MEA region.

WestconGroup Southern Africa once again earned top recognition as the Microsoft Services Provider Licensing Agreements (SPLA) distributor of the year for the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region.

Based on highest corresponding year-over-year growth percentage, the honour was presented this month at the 2015 Microsoft CSR Middle East and Africa awards programme in Dubai. WestconGroup is the leading technology distributor with worldwide practices focused on security, UCC, networking, data centre, cloud, services and global deployment.

Key factors in the selection of WestconGroup Southern Africa for this award include:

* Balanced growth in managed and unmanaged services environments;
* Success and growth of the company's partner recruitment strategy;
* Ability to deliver and deploy successful road shows; and
* Continued strength in regional marketing activities.

"This award comes at a time when South African distributors are battling to grow their businesses and find their niche in a tough economic market," states Leane Hannigan, Cloud Solutions director at WestconGroup Southern Africa. "We have sustained solid growth with a healthy partner ecosystem. Our ability to remain agile and diversify with a broad range of cloud offerings reinforces why we emerged as the leading regional Microsoft partner."

Last year, the WestconGroup Microsoft team was lauded, for the second year running, as the Microsoft Volume Licensing and Cloud Distributor of the Year for 2014 in South Africa. Additionally, the company was also Microsoft's Top MEA Distributor in Reach Growth for Hosting at its Microsoft MEA SPLAR Awards 2014, hosted in Istanbul, Turkey.

"Microsoft's ability to continually diversify and deliver industry-relevant solutions to large and small businesses looking to grow both on-premises or into the cloud, is the catalyst for its success globally. We will continue working with our vendor partners to build new programs and services that help our customers better address the ever evolving needs of the southern African end-user," states Paul Conradie, CEO at WestconGroup Southern Africa.
