At first sight one would think the latest Genius mouse is basically another boring wireless mouse that is merely a nice to have and offers the user basically nothing more than what any other mouse would.

After reading the specs, you realise the mouse is actually more than meets the eye. It gives the user almost total control of their PC/notebook with a few clicks of the mouse.

The NetScroll Superior comes with an impressive array of features, which include 10 "one-touch" keys that provide fast access to multimedia, Internet and application switching.

The cordless design is a major plus in that it gives the user almost unlimited freedom of hand movement and makes it easy to stow away for the notebook user.

This is complemented by the 360-degree efficiency provided by the RF Digital Radio technology.

The receiver also doubles as a battery charger and the Genius guys are good enough to throw in an extra pair of rechargeable batteries.

The mouse has an 800 dots per inch sensor and supports Windows 98 and upward.

The Internet keys are appropriately placed on top of the mouse while the application switch and the thumb on the left-hand side of the mouse operate multimedia buttons.

The size of the mouse could be a deterring factor for users with small hands because the device is notably bigger than the average mouse and can seem to be bulky.

As far as software functionality goes, the mouse comes with the "Easy Jump" function which contains two working modes: the office easy jump mode and the traditional mode.

"Office easy jump" lets the user choose eight commonly used applications and 16 cyber functions more easily and quickly.

The MouseMate software also provides for easy button assignments with the user being able to customise the buttons for one-click shortcuts, including double-clicking, cutting and pasting, etc.

At the end of the day, you will find the mouse is a must-have, especially for the busy office PC/notebook user. It cuts down working times by at least a third in certain cases.

It is comparatively lightweight, easy to use, and installation and customisation is basically a matter of a few clicks. It almost scores a perfect 10.

The Genius NetScroll Superior is available from local distributor, Axiz.
