The winner in the Duxbury Networking 'Win a Mini with Netgear' competition is Kevin Waller, a technical sales specialist at WIT in Cape Town.
He has won a Mini Cooper worth R220 000 - the first prize in the competition which was launched in November 2007.
Other winners are David Peall from e-Schools' Network in Cape Town, Natasja Pile from Legal Interact in Johannesburg and Petro Plotz from iVolve in Pretoria who all won Sony PlayStation PS3 consoles.
The competition was organised by Duxbury Networking in association with its principal Netgear and was open to its dealers throughout South Africa who resell the Netgear range of networking products - which includes wireless broadband routers and adapters, firewalls, switches and wireless access points.
According to Waller, he was an enthusiastic entrant in the competition, particularly as it had a car as first prize. "I was in desperate need of a car and was delighted when my name came up as the winner of the Netgear Mini," he says.
"My thanks to Graham Duxbury and his team for making this possible. The Mini is a wonderful car, I'm enjoying it immensely."
At WIT, Waller provides networking solutions, including Web and mail hosting services for Cape Town-based small to medium-sized businesses. WIT also provides technical backup and ongoing support.
Waller says Netgear products are key to WIT's solutions and the range now plays an important role in its business model. "Netgear is our first choice for wireless routers and switches in the network infrastructures we design. We don't recommend anything else."
From both Duxbury Networking and Netgear's perspective the competition was an outstanding success. A significant number of entries were received from enthusiastic staff members linked to Duxbury Networking's channel partners.
Duxbury Networking CEO Graham Duxbury says he is thrilled at the outcome of the competition. "Competitions such as this not only help raise the profile of our product offerings - such as Netgear - but also reinforce Duxbury Networking's position as a value-added distributor committed to the success of its reseller partners," he says.
Through the competition, we were able to give our resellers an insight into some of the advanced networking products we provide and an idea of the value our technical and operational support staff can add to their sales teams' activities when targeting both home and enterprise customers.
