What does the threat landscape look like now?
Bruno Horta Soares, leading executive advisor, IDC Portugal, will be delivering the opening keynote address: ‘An overview of the current threat landscape’, at the ITWeb Security Summit 2021, to be held as a virtual event from 1 to 3 June.
With more than 20 years' experience in information and technology advisory services, Horta Soares covers digital transformation, IT governance and management, and security. He has worked for some of the leading global professional services firms in Portugal and Africa, and since 2015 has been advising and supporting tech buyers and vendors to help them create value and trust in the digital economy.
He is a visiting professor at several universities and business schools in Portugal and Angola, focusing on governance and management of enterprise IT-related topics. He is also an accredited trainer for the COBIT 5/2019 Foundation and the founding president of ISACA Lisbon, Portugal Chapter, and a member of the Portuguese Institute of Directors Council.
In his keynote, Horta Soares will unpack whether we are seeing new threats or an increase in existing threats, such as phishing, malware, and ransomware. He will also discuss how threat actors’ approaches and methods are evolving in the wake of the pandemic, and how companies are responding.
Finally, he will examine new developments in nation state-backed espionage, and talk about key lessons learned from recent major breaches, including FireEye and SolarWinds.
