EMC revamps platform

EMC is upgrading its Documentum enterprise content management platform with several Web 2.0 tools and a software server designed to improve performance of "mass-volume applications" including archiving and transactional content systems, says Network World.

The Version 6.5 release of EMC Documentum features four new add-ons, including a Web page builder; a rich media interface for reviewing, annotating and sharing rich media files; a personalised client giving users quick access to frequently used content; and new team workspaces.

EMC also unveiled its Documentum High-Volume Server, which offers "high-speed ingestion, batch processing [and a] lightweight footprint for metadata and data portioning", technologies designed to keep high-volume applications running smoothly.

New research report unveiled

Research and Markets has announced the addition of the "Content Management Investment in Medium-sized Enterprises H2 2007 (Databook)" report to its offering, says Market Watch.

This databook helps vendors to understand medium-sized enterprises current and forthcoming investment in content management solutions.

The data has been drawn from interviews with over 173 IT managers conducted in H2 2007.

Mediator 4 to be revealed

Pharos will be launching Mediator 4 at the IBC 2008 Expo in Amsterdam from 12 to 16 September, says Broadcast Buyer.

Mediator 4 provides a next-generation content management platform with integrated media management, workflow, control, automation and publishing. Mediator 4 adds also new functionality and options to manage global content from the desktop.

"Whether their future business opportunity is managing content, creating channels or expanding their distribution, customers are asking for a single platform to manage all operations," explains Russell Grute at Pharos.
