Finance ministry signs e-billing agreement

An electronic bill presentment and payment (EBPP) agreement was signed today between the finance ministry and Ahli United Bank, reports english.bna.

Spokesman for Baharaini e-Government, Mohammed Al Qaed, said introducing e-billing via the e-Government Web site was one in a series of 167 services that are constantly on the rise.

Through its e-Government Web site, Bahrain is striving to excel in easing foreigners' arrival and accommodation procedures, he noted.

Corvalis offers e-payment, billing

The city of Corvallis has added an electronic payment and billing system for computer-savvy water and sewer customers, says Gazette Times.

The format is a response to an increasing demand for electronic services, and comes after the city instituted an electronic building permits process.

Electronic payments and billings will make things more convenient for customers working on their bills after hours or on the weekends.

TrialNet releases connect service

TrialNet, a provider of Web-based management and e-billing tools for the legal profession, released its new Vendor Connect service, designed to help corporate clients manage their legal service providers, such as court reporting, photocopying and scanning and electronic discovery, says The Open Press.

Vendor Connect automatically sends RFPs to vendors offering legal support services; the vendors selected will then send their invoices through TrialNet's electronic billing system for direct payment from the client.

"It's a win-win," said Debbie Weaver, TrialNet's VP of sales and marketing. "The client gets lower costs and the law firms no longer have to carry the costs for these services until they are reimbursed by the client."
