DCC to partner with hyperconverged solutions specialist Syneto

DCC joins with Syneto to distribute its next-generation hyperconverged products, which include instant disaster recovery capabilities.

Johannesburg, 25 Jan 2018

Drive Control Corporation (DCC) has been appointed as an official distributor for Syneto, a leading hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) vendor. The appointment will see Syneto entering the South African market via DCC, which will offer Syneto's complete range of innovative HCI solutions, which provide an all-in-one IT infrastructure, specifically designed to provide all of the IT services SMEs, remote/branch offices, (ROBOs) or small to medium-sized data centres require.

This agreement follows the launch of Syneto's third-generation HCI product families, the HYPERSeries 3000 and HYPERSeries 2000. Both product series feature built-in instant disaster recovery capabilities, providing a return to operation (RTO) of just 15 minutes and a recovery point objective (RPO) of one minute.

There are various models available with the HYPERSeries 3000 range, offering a workload of between seven and 48 virtual machines and hybrid, double-hybrid and all-flash capacity options.

The Syneto products will significantly enhance DCC's hyperconverged portfolio and ability to provide its reseller partners with high performance, simple-to-manage HCI solutions, which not only offer increased efficiency and agility, but also provide automated disaster recovery, complete data protection and built-in file services, all at a highly affordable price, ideal for those operating in the budget-sensitive SME and ROBO market space.

Comments Raul Del Fabbro, Enterprise Solutions at Drive Control Corporation (DCC): "Hyperconvergence is becoming an increasingly important technology solution in the South African channel. It is, however, often associated with large enterprise organisations and prohibitively high costs. With Syneto's HYPERSeries, DCC can now offer easy-to-use, hyperconverged solutions that take away the traditional pains and restrictions of data management and virtual application deployment.

"The Syneto HYPERSeries provides solutions that meet the needs of smaller organisations, at a price point that makes the move to HCI highly justifiable, both in terms of purchase price and operating costs."

Comments Rick Dudson, VP Sales EMEA at Syneto: "Globally, hyperconverged infrastructures are becoming increasingly adopted by organisations of all sizes, to improve system performance, simplify their back-end systems, cut down on power usage and rack space. Syneto takes this approach to the next level by also converging backups and disaster recovery capabilities, as well as built-in file sharing and data protection. This removes the need for customers to invest in and manage backup software and file servers.

"Analyst firm Gartner predicts 'the market for hyperconverged systems will grow 79%, taking up 24% of the IT infrastructure market by 2019', further 'the market for hyperconverged systems is predicted to be the fastest growing in the IT sector (26%), estimated to be worth about $7 billion (R98 million) by 2020'.

"By partnering with Drive Control Corporation, who has a long-established track record of successfully introducing and promoting leading-edge, highly innovative new technologies into South Africa, Syneto can bring the exceptional benefits of the Syneto HYPERSeries to DCC's customers and SME businesses across the region."

Syneto

Syneto is innovating the traditional IT infrastructure of small/medium enterprise datacentres, SMBs and ROBOs, by providing cutting-edge hyperconverged infrastructures, specifically designed to meet their needs. Traditional IT infrastructures rely on expensive to buy and hard to manage pieces, whereas Syneto builds an all-in-one solution, which brings together the agility and economics of the public cloud, with the on-premises security and performance of the private cloud, paving the way for a hybrid IT future.

Syneto takes hyperconverged infrastructures to the next level with 500% more application performance versus traditional infrastructures, always-on data protection and built-in disaster recovery capabilities, which, in the event of a disaster, enables customers to restart their entire IT infrastructure in just 30 minutes.
