Mark T. Hofmann, globally renowned crime and intelligence analyst, and business psychologist, will deliver a keynote address at the upcoming ITWeb Security Summit 2023, on hacker profiling and the psychology of cyber security.

ITWeb Security Summit will feature over 50 leading international and local speakers, covering today’s hottest cyber security topics, from cyber warfare to DevSecOps, to cloud security, incident response, cyber security psychology and culture, and more. Don’t miss out on this must-attend gathering of IT, security, and business decision-makers -- book your seat today!

Hoffman studied business psychology in Germany and he also trained and got certified as a profiler in the US.  He is a university lecturer on behavioural and cyber psychology and one of the leading experts in his field.

He has trained police officers in profiling and interrogation techniques, and he has interviewed hackers, cyber criminals and psychopaths to understand how their minds work and teach others how to identify them and protect themselves.

Most of his work as a consultant for companies or public authorities takes place behind closed doors. His clients include law enforcement agencies, companies of all sizes, global players, banks, NGOs and some of the world's top negotiators.

As a profiling expert he has appeared on international TV and streaming programmes, including CNN, CBS, and 60 Minutes, and is often invited to speak at events about the profiles and motives of hackers, how and why social engineering works and how we can become a ‘human firewall’.

Hoffmann’s keynote is scheduled on day one of ITWeb’s 18th annual Security Summit, to be held from 6 to 8 June in Johannesburg.

Under the theme “Keeping your organisation secure in an evolving global risk landscape”, the event will feature over 50 global and local security experts and practitioners who will delve into the latest security trends and threats that African CISOs, CIOs, security specialists and risk officers need to manage today.
