Enterprise cloud company Nutanix and Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) have announced that HPE's hybrid cloud as-a-service offering, HPE GreenLake for Nutanix, is now available.

They’re delivering on a promise made in April, saying at the time they’d join forces to bring hybrid cloud to the market.

The announcement, made at Nutanix’s .NEXT conference in Copenhagen this week, means that HPE's GreenLake consumption-based IT model can be used with Nutanix's cloud OS software, including its free hypervisor AHV, to deliver a managed private cloud.

Nutanix channel partners can now directly sell HPE servers with Nutanix's enterprise cloud OS.

Monica Kumar, senior VP of product and solutions marketing at Nutanix, said organisations are looking for solutions to deploy hybrid cloud easily, and repeated the company’s oft stated goal of making cloud infrastructure ‘invisible’ or reducing the time spent on infrastructure administration and letting businesses focus on their applications.

“By partnering with HPE, we’re paving pathways for more enterprises to easily find the right hybrid cloud solution and focus on what moves the needle to scale,” she said in a statement.

GreenLake for Nutanix as a service is available across the 50+ countries where HPE GreenLake is offered and will be initially focused on simplifying customer deployments of end-user computing, databases and private clouds.

The two companies also announced the HPE ProLiant DX solution, which is built on HPE ProLiant and Apollo servers and will come with Nutanix software pre-installed and shipped from HPE factories. The intention is to enable “enterprises to accelerate the adoption of modernised datacentre architectures.”
