Kulula.com has expanded its "no frills" flight offering to include a leg between Durban and Johannesburg. The airline will start flying two return flights a day to the east coast city from 14 December.
Online booking opened yesterday, and it`s expected that at least 30% of seats on the route will be sold at R250, with the balance of the seats being sold on a sliding scale up to a maximum of R450.
At the same time, Kulula.com will increase its frequency on the Cape Town/Johannesburg route to four return flights daily, commencing on 14 December as well.
Stuart Cochrane, Kulula.com GM, says: "Initial indications are that since its start-up in August this year, Kulula.com has grown the Johannesburg/Cape Town route by more than 10%."
The Comair-backed initiative announced the expansion at Durban`s Point Yacht Club, at a function which in addition to the press and Kulula.com`s technology and business partners, played host to a number of children from the Ennerdale SOS Children`s Village in Gauteng.
