This hybrid store offers both retail and wholesale customers a wide range of quality products at competitive prices. In addition to a comprehensive dry goods range, the store has superb service departments such as its Butchery, Bakery and Fresh Produce departments.

The store was entered as a nominee into this year's international IGA (Independent Grocers' Alliance) retail awards competition. All stores are measured against a number of globally recognised performance criteria, including first-rate service levels, consistent pricing, excellent housekeeping, standard of service departments and, of course, community involvement. SuperSave emerged as the overall winner and received the coveted award as 2019 IGA International Retailer of the Year. Co-owners Abu Khatib and Suhail Bayat attended the ceremony in San Diego, California where the winner was announced.

David Geldenhuys, marketing executive officer at Arch Retail Systems, recently visited the store to congratulate Abu and Suhail on this exceptional achievement. "Our congratulations to the SuperSave team on the wonderful award," said Geldenhuys. "We are indeed honoured and privileged to be associated with them as a business partner."

Suhail had this to say about Arch Retail Systems as SuperSave's preferred POS solution: "The growth in store operation necessitated the implementation of Arch Retail as an integrated management solution in March 2017. The decision to convert the store to Arch was a strategic one.

"Arch facilitates the change required in the business dynamics and brings more structure and discipline to the operation. Margin control through Arch is critical in the success of the store. Arch, as business partner, has definitely played an important role in our growth and in us receiving the reward."
