ITWeb Business Intelligence Summit 2017

Meet Thabo Ndlela, non-executive director, IFS Africa at the 12th Business Intelligence Summit in March 2017. Registration is open and the agenda is live. Click here for the most updated agenda.

Businesses of all types and sizes are under tremendous pressure to improve efficiencies and lower costs, all while delivering more value to customers and other stakeholders, and responding more quickly to a fast-changing business environment.

The key to meeting these business goals lies in leveraging the wealth of data that today's enterprise has at its disposal to understand enterprise performance and enable better decision-making.

This is according to Thabo Ndlela, non-executive director, IFS Africa, who will be presenting on 'A single version of the truth' at the ITWeb Business Intelligence Summit, to be held on 14 and 15 March at The Forum in Bryanston.

He says when used in the right way, data collection and analytics can optimise operations to deliver a definitive competitive edge.

It is widely understood that big data and analytics play a significant role in business today, and help companies gain insight into their operations. Moreover, data collection and analytics guide company decision-making and they help in the optimisation of business processes, he adds.

However, Ndlela says these capabilities are changing due to digital transformation. He says organisations need a full 360-degree, enterprise-wide, top-down perspective of processes and performance to give them a single version of the truth.

"To take full advantage of the ever-increasing capabilities, covering areas such as machine learning and visualisation, it is important to review and rationalise the current analytics landscape in an organisation as well as the data stored taking into account that strategic, tactical and operational levels will use different data sets and different dashboards and reports."

Delegates attending Ndlela's talk will learn about the analytics we are seeking and using today, current trends in analytics as well as what to look for today to future-proof tomorrow. In addition, they will learn how to make analytics more efficient and effective, and what to do with the analytics they have today.
