Sage Pay integration brings benefits of connected services to Sage Pastel Payroll & HR clients

Johannesburg, 06 Aug 2014

Sage Pay has integrated its payment and risk management solutions directly into the Sage Pastel Payroll & HR software to provide South African SMEs with the ability to streamline a range of transactions and business processes.

The Sage Pay technology allows Sage Pastel Payroll & HR users to verify employees' ID numbers and bank account details, pay salaries online, perform credit checks on employees, all from within the interface of their payroll and human resources software.

Says Sage Pay managing director Charles Pittaway: "This technology allows SME companies to easily extend the power of their desktop payroll with a range of online solutions that save them time and money.

"Even if you are not ready to move all of your software to the cloud, you can use our connected services to improve efficiency, reduce the risk of fraudulent or erroneous payments, and save on transaction costs. Sage Pay brings you integrated payment and risk management solutions directly from your payroll software at a click of a button."

Sage Pay features and services for Sage Pastel Payroll & HR users include:

* ID Number Verification: Have the peace of mind that the ID number you have captured is associated with the correct employee as verified by the Department of Home Affairs.
* Bank Account Verification: Sage Pay helps you eliminate payments being made to the incorrect employee by ensuring the bank account is valid, open, active and belongs to the specific employee.
* Salary & Creditor Payments: You can process EFT salary and creditor payments straight from your online Sage Pay account or upload your file from your payroll software. No need to install additional banking software, no risk of exporting EFT files.
* Credit Data: A Sage Pay account gives you risk management services, including credit checks from multiple credit bureaus and CIPC, directly available in your payroll software.

"These services promise new levels of efficiency for SMEs who used to pay employees by logging into online banking and paying them individually. Now, you can safely do all your payroll transactions from within one easy to use interface," Pittaway says. "This level of technology was once affordable only to large companies, but now it is within reach for nearly any business."

Unlike equivalent services and products designed for larger companies, Sage Pay does not require the installation and configuration of any special software. That means you do not need to call an expert from the bank in to get up-and-running with Sage Pay. All Sage Pastel Payroll & HR software users have a Sage Pay account ready for activation, with no account set-up fee. They will also enjoy a 90-day trial with no monthly module fees to pay and low transaction fees for certain transactions.
