Cyber security has been put through its biggest test in history. The almost overnight transition to working from home exacerbated an already complicated threat landscape.

Bad actors were quick to leverage the pandemic and those responsible for information security had to scramble to bolster defences against a slew of increasingly complex and sophisticated threats.

ITWeb Security Summit 2021: 1-3 June

Book your seat now to get up to speed on cyber security trends, solutions and best practices – all without leaving your home or office.

The event will feature more than 50 speakers, including six international keynotes, who will be sharing their knowledge and expert opinions with you.

In such unprecedented times, there was no guide or manual to consult, meaning trial and error was the order of the day.

Geoff White, investigative journalist and author of Crime Dot Com, will be presenting an international keynote address on “Lessons from COVID-19 – what has worked and what hasn’t?”, at the ITWeb Security Summit 2021, to be held as a virtual event from 1 to 3 June.

White dives deep into issues such as how the latest developments in technology are affecting our world. An accomplished keynote speaker and prolific writer, he has spoken on panels and chaired debates at venues ranging from London's Chatham House think-tank to the Latitude music festival.

As an investigative journalist, White has covered technology for BBC News, Channel 4 News, Audible, Forbes online and many others. With a particular focus on e-crime and cyber security, his work has brought about arrests, regulatory investigations and legislative action.

White also created the Data Baby project, a unique experiment which used a fictional online identity to expose how our personal data is being used – and abused – online. Moreover, White completed a 10-part series delving into the shadow dark Web economy that feeds on stolen personal data, hacked computers and corporate incompetence.

In his keynote, White will unpack what have been the biggest lessons from Covid-19 and the shift to remote working, as well as what threats have emerged or increased since the start of the pandemic and how companies are dealing with them.

In addition, he will cover how to continually monitor, evaluate and respond to new threats in the new working environment, and will show attendees how to take their new learnings/ and capabilities into the future to ensure that they are not caught on the back foot again.
