Mustek, an assembler and distributor of ICT products, has officially been appointed as an Apple B2B partner for South Africa.

The distributor says this is in line with its business strategy of expanding its product and service offering to the market.

As an Apple B2B partner, Mustek's procurement and purchasing power of Apple products increases, which means that its ability to manage and hold stock for its customers is a benefit to its customers, says Dimitri Tserpes, Mustek CTO.

"Mustek is also well-positioned in the public sector and corporate space and will focus on this vertical to make the much-loved Apple product range widely available.

"An additional value-add is that Mustek is a device enrolment programme (DEP) reseller which provides a faster and more streamlined way to deploy corporate-owned Mac, Apple TV or iOS devices."

Further benefits of DEP include zero-touch configuration for IT, streamlined set-up and wireless supervision, says Mustek.

Mustek was initially appointed as an authorised Apple reseller for the South African market in August last year.

"Mustek aims to leverage off the Apple platform to break through into new arenas, ensuring it aligns closely with the Apple services.

"Organisations today are increasingly looking to on-board the Apple offering due to its collaborative nature and ability to create innovative ways of engagement, enhancing flexibility, productivity and efficiencies, and Mustek will make this a reality," notes the company.

Established in 1987, Mustek is the operational business division of the Mustek Group, which includes Rectron. The company says it has a footprint of 10 sales and service branches located in all nine provinces of SA.

Its product distribution portfolio includes Samsung, Lenovo, Microsoft Volume Licensing, Huawei and Mustek Security Technologies.
