First National Bank (FNB) says the November results of its eBucks incentive scheme indicate that online shopping is becoming an increasingly popular alternative to traditional shopping.
Lezanne Human, eBucks CEO, says with over R10 million worth of eBucks spent online in the past month, online shopping appears to be growing, with a 100% increase on last year`s figure.
"Overall, the advantages of online shopping have allowed this channel to boom worldwide, as people realise the benefits of easy payment and delivery, as well as shopping without the stress of crowds."
Human ascribes some of the growing confidence in online shopping to the secure payment solution that is in place with 14 eBucks online shopping partners.
"Shopping with eBucks enables members to pay for goods online without divulging any financial details."
Fear of disclosing credit card information is often cited as one of the inhibitors to the growth of online shopping.
