Polycom will lay off workers
Polycom revenue decreased by 5% sequentially in the fourth quarter of 2008, and the company is laying off about 150 workers worldwide, states TMC Net.
Officials say the figure represents about 6% of the communications solutions company's global workforce. Polycom took in just $263 million (R2.65 billion) in the fourth-quarter, mostly due to the slumping economy's negative effect on sales of the company's flagship HD voice products.
Polycom chairman and CEO Robert Hagerty says the realignment of resources should bolster the company going forward.
