SA's Oracle users have only 48 hours left to register for this year's SAOUG conference and expo, which is set to deliver the best possible thought leadership and networking opportunities in a spectacular setting.
In response to feedback from delegates at previous SAOUG Connect events, the organisers have optimised networking opportunities at Connect 2014. "With this year's event being staged in the spectacular KwaZulu-Natal Drakensberg, delegates will have the luxury of extended networking hours in a relaxed environment," says event director, Robert Walker. Not only will delegates be able to enjoy the amenities available to all guests at the Drakensberg Champagne Sport Resort, they will also enjoy opportunities to share knowledge with their peers and glean insights from international experts over organised activities including a gala dinner, cocktail reception and a golf day.
"We have an excellent academic programme featuring top thought leaders and industry experts, as well as an expo area showcasing the latest solutions. But it's not all work at SAOUG events. Some of the best business leads and knowledge-sharing at this event takes place in networking sessions, so Connect 2014 will deliver the ideal environment and ample opportunities for networking," says Walker.
Among the networking highlights on the agenda are the welcome reception and exhibition showcase opening with cocktails; the Women in IT luncheon, a C-level leadership dinner, an informal Connect 2014 Networking event and braai and the SAOUG Closing event - a gala dinner featuring live entertainment.
Golfers can network on the Champagne Sports Resort's 18-hole championship golf course during the SAOUG 2014 Golf Day on Sunday 9 November, and mountain bikers can participate in the Dimension Data Tour de Champagne fun race on Tuesday 11 November.
"This is more than your average conference," explains Walker. "Connect 2014 offers every opportunity for delegates to extend their contact networks, discuss common challenges with their peers, learn from the experts and even conclude business deals." Because the insights gained at the annual SAOUG event are so valuable, a number of enterprises are treating the event as a team-building exercise and sending their entire Oracle team to participate, he adds. Shuttles can be arranged for groups travelling from Gauteng.
Registration for the event closes at midnight on Friday 17 October. Late registrations may be accepted after the cut-off, but will incur a late registration surcharge.
