IT leaders and entrepreneurs can now use an online platform to share their experiences on within their organisation and receive guidance from industry experts.

Local transformation company Xuviate has started a series of Mastermind Groups to provide a platform for IT leaders and SME owners to brainstorm, educate and offer support for digital transformation.

According to Xuviate, group participants are carefully selected from professional networks across the world, and entrepreneurs are also welcome to approach the company. The groups are online only and group members are matched based on industry, company size, relevant IT maturity, IT leadership focus and many other criteria to ensure maximum learning for all.

Mathias T"olken, COO of Xuviate, says the Mastermind meetings are built around a concept called a "hot seat". During each session, two to three of the attendees get a turn to discuss a business technology management problem they are grappling with at the moment.

The hot seats, he adds, are rotated to ensure everyone is offered an opportunity to get input from their peers.

"During the 20- to 30-minute sessions, all other attendees discuss the problem and weigh in with their suggestions and experiences. The topics are not technical in nature, but specifically address business technology management."

He adds the group conversations take place through Zoom, the online video conferencing service. They are all facilitated by relevant IT experts and industry veterans who will furthermore provide their input and guidance.

"Running successful Mastermind groups for business and IT leaders is notoriously difficult as individual circumstances vary greatly between small and medium organisations, but we have found the secret Mastermind 'sauce' for business technology leaders in SMEs."

T"olken points out being accepted into a Mastermind Group is often a life-changing opportunity.

"Benefits include impartial and brainstorming, accountability, motivation, sharing ideas and emotional support and energy.

"Our very own business IT maturity framework for SMEs, the relevant IT methodology, provides structure and guidance. It is useful for keeping everyone focused on the competency-building activities that truly matter during a digital transformation journey."

Xuviate says the company's Xuviate Gap Analyser tool will be used to analyse the technology strengths and weaknesses of each business and provide members with detailed digital maturity status of each participating organisation.

"This will put them in a much stronger position to understand where their organisation weighs as far as digital transformation is concerned," T"olken notes.

The groups meet online every fortnight for up to two hours each session, with between six and 10 active participants. For more information, visit the Mastermind Web site.
