Another EOH board member, Dr Moretlo Molefi, has resigned from the technology group, effective 15 December.

The company notified shareholders today, saying Molefi has “advised the board of EOH that she has decided to stand down as an independent non-executive director of EOH with effect from 15 December 2020, which is the date on which the next annual general meeting will be held”.

EOH says Molefi’s health and the need to focus on the development of her business have motivated her decision.

“The board of directors of EOH would like to thank Dr Molefi for her contribution to EOH. We hope that her health will improve rapidly and wish her well in her future endeavours.”

Molefi’s departure from the EOH board follows that of Anushka Bogdanov, who was lead independent non-executive director and chairperson of the Social and Ethics Committee, who resigned in July.

In February, EOH made some changes to its board of directors, announcing the appointment of independent and lead non-executive directors.

This came shortly after the company welcomed Andrew Mthembu as its chairman, following the death of Dr Xolani Mkhwanazi, who was chairman of the board at the time of his passing.

It then also announced the appointment of Bogdanov, who took over Mthembu’s previous role as the lead independent non-executive director.

EOH says: “The nominations committee is in advanced discussions with two new board members to replace Ms Bogdanov and Dr Molefi, and will make an announcement in this regard shortly.”
