Grintek Telecom to showcase "dial to smile" solution

Johannesburg, , 10 Jul 2000

Grintek Telecom, contact centre specialist within the Grintek group, will be showcasing its "dial to smile" solution set at the Call Centres World Africa 2000 expo, and will be giving away a 16-seat call centre solution to prove it.

Call Centres World Africa 2000 runs from 11 to 13 July at the MTN Sundome, Johannesburg.

According to Linda Weaver, marketing manager at Grintek Telecom, the company is offering the this call centre solution prize worth R250 000 to demonstrate to interested people and potential customers the benefits a call centre can bring to businesses of any size, even small ones.

"We just want to show what a call centre can do for someone's business," says Weaver.

The solution utilises a Nortel Networks backbone to deliver a voice over IP solution. However, Weaver says the solution is heterogeneous, as "we also utilise several other vendors' products to form the complete solution."

"Call centres are not just for large companies, but will benefit even smaller business," Weaver continues. "Our 16-seat prize can be implemented on a smaller seat scale and expanded at a later time when the winner's business grows, and they see its value."

Weaver says Grintek has implemented 50 call centres in the last two years, despite the quieter year in 1999 due to the Y2K slowdown. "We believe that we have become a household name, synonymous with call centres," says Weaver.

Grintek Telecom's holding company, JSE-listed Grintek Group Limited, is active in black empowerment initiatives, with a 47% shareholding by Kunene Technologies.
