Sony plans e-money service on the Internet

Reuters reports that Sony plans to begin an electronic money service on the Internet in 2000. According to Nikkei, cCards similar to debit or smart-cash cards and special reading devices will be provided to customers. They will connect to Sony`s Internet service, So-net, via a PC and purchases can be made by passing the cards through the readers.
