Naspers opts for Amass system to archive photographic assets

Media giant Naspers has installed the Amass storage system to archive its wealth of photographic material. The Amass system, developed by the Advanced Digital Information Corporation (ADIC) and distributed in South Africa by Supported Software, enables traditional archiving media to be used as shared storage devices from anywhere in the network. This means automated tape or optical libraries can be used at near-disk speed, reducing storage costs.
