Lexmark boasts breakthrough in color printing

Venture Computer, the sole distributor in South Africa for Lexmark International, today announced the Lexmark Optra Color 1200, a new top-end desktop colour printer, as well as the Optra Color 40 and the Optra Color 45. Lexmark said the Optra Color 1200 is the fastest available desktop colour page printer, printing full colour at a speed of 12 ppm in 600x600 dpi resolution and 1200 image quality.

HP announces a new class of office colour printers

Hewlett-Packard has introduced the HP 2000C and HP 2000CN Professional Series colour printer family, which the company says creates a new class of printer for the office desktop. Hewlett-Packard says the new ink printing family uses a number of technology innovations to deliver laser-class colour speed for less than half the cost of low-end colour laser printers. The new class of printers fills a gap in the market between existing inkjet printers and colour laser printers, Hewlett-Packard says.
